Cecil "Jack" Ramsey

November 5, 1938 — April 18, 2020

Cecil “Jack” Ramsey passed away peacefully at his home in Stillwater, Oklahoma on Saturday, April 18, 2020 surrounded by his wife, son, sister-in-law, Linda, and pets, Molly and Skipper. He was 81. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at 1:00pm at Dighton Marler Funeral Home. Services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.
Jack was born November 5, 1938 in Berryville, Arkansas to Cecil and Lola Mae (Burris) Ramsey. On November 2, 1960 he joined the United States Army where he faithfully served his country and received an honorable discharge November 1, 1963. During his military tour he was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, Fort Ord, California, and Worms, Germany. Then in 1967, on March 11th, he married Judy Carol Humbard in Oak Grove, Arkansas. They were blessed with 53 wonderful years of marriage. Jack was also active in the Elks Lodge #1859 and the Moose Lodge #2089, both here in Stillwater.
Traveling was a great passion of Jack’s. He enjoyed taking cruises to different islands, especially Cozumel. For more than 40 years he worked for many different contractors in several states as a Pipeline Inspector. He enjoyed traveling the country, getting to see some of God’s majesty works of art. He finally retired in 2016 when his health began to fail him. Over the past few years, he spent a lot of his time playing on his IPad and visiting with folks on facebook.
Jack had a very outgoing personality. He never met a stranger and had an unforgettable smile. He will be remembered for his kindness and gentle spirit.
Jack is survived by his wife, Judy of the home; son, Jody Ramsey of Stillwater, Ok; three grandchildren, Tamara Perryman and husband Kyle of Berryville, AR, Christopher Steffek and Michael Steffek both of Loyal, OK; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lenora Davis of Springfield, MO, and Louise Newman of Hollister, MO; his two little fur babies, Molly and Skipper; other extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, John Anderson; baby daughter, Viola; infant son, Johnny; three brothers, Bryce Ramsey, Rondall Anderson, and Charles Anderson; two sisters, Anna Mae Ramsey, and Marie Nightingale.
Memorial donations can be made to Judy Ramsey in c/o Dighton-Marler Funeral Home, 5106 N. Washington, Stillwater, OK., 74075 for a memorial fund.
