Frank Joe Patak was born June 30, 1928, in Ennis, TX. He passed from this life at home with his spouse Rita by his side, February 8, 2022. Services will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022 with the Rosary beginning at 9:45am and Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. The public is invited to either or both services. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery.
Frank’s family moved to Perry, OK in 1948. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950-1952 with an Army engineer unit assigned to Ft Leonard Wood, MO constructing aviation runways for military planes in Korea. Frank married Dorothy “Rita” Loretta Gilley in Perry on June 23, 1967. Frank and Rita enjoyed dancing more than anything else. For many years they attended events at the Morrison dance hall. Frank was a great waltzer but also enjoyed polka and two-step dancing. Over the years, Frank worked at the Bisangno Chicken Hatchery, two service stations to include Phillips 66, and finally retired from Ditch Witch in 1993. In 1994, Frank and Rita purchased his parents’ farm and moved into the house which he helped build with his brothers, George Patak and Charles Patak and resided there until 2021 when they moved to Perry from the family farm.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Cyril and Frances Margaret Patak; his sisters, Agnes, Mildred, and Mary; his stepsons, Steve Goodell and Michael Goodell. He is survived by his wife, Rita; step-daughter, Alicia Cramer of Cleveland, OK; and step-son, Johnny Cramer of Perry, OK; siblings, Frances Peal of Dallas, TX, George (Delores) Patak of Perry, OK, Cecilia Severin of Garber, OK, Charles (Judy) Patak of Garber, OK, Henrietta Burkhart of Colorado Spring, CO, and Catherine (Bill) Heilman of Springhill, KS. He had numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews in the Gilley family and 36 nieces and nephews in the Patak family. Frank was a lifelong Catholic and member of the St. Rosa of Lima Catholic Church in Perry.
