John W. Tayrien

John W. Tayrien age 73, of Stillwater passed from this life on November 26, 2006. He was born March 6, 1933 to John S. "Buster" Tayrien and Gladys McBride Tayrien in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
He grew up and attended school in Ft. Worth and Odessa, Texas. He joined the Marine Corp and served in the Korean War. When he returned from the Marines he lived in Odessa for a while and then moved to Monahans, Texas. He married Estella M. Barnes on August 28, 1975. They were married for 31 years.
John worked as a mechanical engineer at the Leflore County Medical Hospital in Poteau, Oklahoma when he retired. He and his wife moved to Stillwater in 1998.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Lions Club of Bartlesville, and the Moose Lodge of Monahans, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
Survivors include wife of the home, three sons, John A Tayrien and wife Nanette of Anaheim, California, Alan Tayrien and wife Linda of Colorado, Texas, James Tayrien & wife Jessie of Ft. Lewis, Washington, and five daughters, Tammy Davis and husband David of El Dorado, Texas, Toni McMahan of Lubbock, Texas, Sallie Ashby and husband Mark of Broken Arrow, OK, Terrie Tayrien of Stillwater, and Stacy Whittington and husband Randy of Stillwater, two brothers, Jack Tayrien and wife Ann of Ruidoso, N.M., Terry Tayrien and wife Jodie of Midland, Texas, two sisters, Jo Ann Banfield and husband Jim of Tulsa, and Janet Roe of Okmulgee, twenty one grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home, Stillwater, OK.
