William Martin (Marty) Baker

William Martin “Marty” Baker passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 in Stillwater, Oklahoma at the age of 49. Memorial service will be held on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at Eagle Heights Baptist Church. Cremation services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home.
Marty was born March 14, 1971 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Richard and Nancy (Allen) Baker. He graduated from Woodward High School in 1989.
After receiving his B.S. in Electrical Engineering at Oklahoma State, Marty’s career as a software engineer led him to jobs at Frontier Electronics Systems, FLIR/ICX, and Proagrica. He loved solving complex coding puzzles and was often bantering with coworkers and bragging on his daughters around the office.
Marty was a constant learner, intrigued most by history and technology. He could always discuss “This day in history…” or the next technology advancement. This fascination with the past and present culminated in family trips to Europe. When home, between gaming and tinkering on the computer, his depth of knowledge made him an at-home tutor and human textbook to both of his daughters. To those who knew Marty, his love and pride for his family was evident.
Survivors include his wife Dana; two daughters, Rachel MeLanie Brown and Morgan Naomi Baker all of Stillwater, Oklahoma; parents, Richard and Nancy Baker of Collinsville; sister, Melanie VanBeber and husband Paul of Collinsville, Oklahoma; two aunts, Susan Whitehead and husband Bruce and Rita Diamond and husband Randy all of Owasso, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his Paternal and Maternal grandparents; and nephew, Brayden J. Little.
