Alan Ray Best

Alan Ray Best, 54, of Tulsa passed away on Saturday May 23, 2015. Funeral services will be held at Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home located at 5106 N. Washington in Stillwater on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Private Family burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, Stillwater, Ok. Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater, OK.
Alan was born on April 14, 1961 in Stillwater to the late Ted and Jane Best. Alan suffered a brain injury at age 4 leaving him disabled. He was a resident of Hissom Memorial Center for many years before moving into the Tulsa area.
As a child, Alan was a great joy to his family an entertainer who loved to watch commercials, memorizing the jingles and singing them at the top of his lungs. He loved to attend Sunday school at First Christian Church, play outside and enjoy time with family. His long life was a testament to the excellent care he received from his many caregivers.
Alan was predeceased by his parents, Ted and Jane Best.
He is survived by his sister Jan (Terry) Courtright of Stillwater, brother Larry (Gwen) Best of St. Charles, MO, stepfather Charles Russell of Stillwater. Three nieces: Erin Courtright Renollet and Dara Courtright Beasley of Stillwater, Eva Best of St. Charles, MO and nephew Devin Best of St. Charles, MO, Great Nephew Daxon Renollet and Great Niece Irelyn Renollet, both of Stillwater. He is also survived by his long time friend and housemate Chad Richardt of Tulsa.
