Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home and a service celebrating Alexs amazing life will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at Lifechurch.tv in Stillwater. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery. Public visitation will be held from 12:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday with the family greeting friends at the funeral home from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday evening.
Alex was born on July 15, 1993 in Liberal, KS to Keith and Kelly (Beardsley) Vierling. The family relocated to Perkins where Alex attended school through the 6th grade. Alexs passion for sports came at a young age. He was a sports statistic machine and could tell you who won any game, anytime, anywhere. Most people attribute this to the fact that he went to sleep watching ESPN and retained almost everything he took in with his brilliant memory. While in Perkins, Alex played football, basketball, and baseball, a sport he began playing as soon as he was old enough to hold a bat. He was a proud member of the Perkins Bandits football program.
In the 7th grade Alex transferred to Stillwater Public Schools. He continued to excel at baseball and made many wonderful friends in Stillwater. In September of 2011 Alex met his best friend and the love of his life, Jenkyns McAfee. Alex and Jenkyns have been inseparable soul mates for the last three years and she truly was his high school sweetheart and the most important person in his life.
Alex graduated from Stillwater High School in 2012 and received his Certified Personal Trainer designation. He began his personal training career training people out of the Body Works Gym in Stillwater. He also enrolled at Oklahoma State University and pursued a degree in Nutritional Science before joining the crew at Les Pierce Pumping a couple of months ago. He was very proud of being a personal trainer and loved to help others by sharing his knowledge of proper technique and form. You never had to wonder where Alex was, chances are that if he wasnt with Jenkyns then he was at the gym.
When he wasnt working out or training, Alex could usually be found playing Xbox, watching ESPN, eating ketchup, and breaking cell phones. He also enjoyed teasing and spending time with his 3 yr old niece Korbyn or playing with his dogs Bentley and Otto.
Alex was an intelligent and fun loving guy who lived life to the fullest and lived without regret. He was stubborn, consistent, independent, and brutally honest. Alex knew the difference between right and wrong and didnt live his life in the gray. Everything was either black or white. You never had to wonder where you stood with him. If you were a friend, you knew he had your back through anything you were going through. Alex could always be trusted to give good advice and he always saved his words for the perfect moment.
Alex Vierling was a good man who knew who he was and where he wanted to go in life. He loved to make others happy and he had a smile that lit up any room and a bigger than life personality that made him many amazing friends. Alex lived each day of his 21 years to the fullest and made the most out of what he was given. He was a loving son, a protective brother, a loyal boyfriend, an honest friend and a hardworking employee whose legacy of selflessness and compassion will live on through the lives of those he touched during his amazing 21 years of life. He will be missed by all who those who knew and loved him.
Alex was preceded in death by his grandma Linda Beardsley. He is survived by his proud parents Keith and Kelly Vierling of Stillwater, girlfriend and love of his life, Jenkyns McAfee of Stillwater, a brother, Brandon Vierling of Perkins, a sister Kacey Vierling and Brad Ward of Stillwater, grandparents Keith and Judie Vierling of Stillwater, a niece Korbyn Vierling of Perkins, as well as many amazing aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Alex Vierling Scholarship Fund in care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, 5106 N. Washington, Stillwater, OK 74075.
