Allen Lewis (Short) Webb

Allen Lewis (Short) Webb, 80, of Perry, passed from this life to be with his Lord and Savior on January 13, 2010. Born in Morrison, Oklahoma, on November 12, 1929 to Irvin Lewis and Stella May Webb, Allen grew up and attended school in Morrison graduating as president of his Morrison senior class. He then went on to attend Oklahoma State University. In May 1952 during the Korean War, Allen entered the United States Army where he attained the rank of Sergeant 1st Class and received the Army Occupation Medal (Japan), the Korea Service Medal, the Combat Infantry Badge, and the United Nations Service Medal. Services for Allen will be Saturday, January 16, 2010, at 2 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church, Perry, Oklahoma with Brother Roger Dunn officiating and interment to follow at Morrison Cemetery, Morrison, Oklahoma. Allen was devoted to his family and a faithful member of the Calvary Baptist Church. He was also owner/operator of the Perry Paint and Body Shop in Perry. His work was his hobby along with fishing with Bob Layton until Bob passed away. On the 22nd of February, 1951, in Stillwater, Allen married Shirley Lavon Melton who survives. He is also survived by three sons: Allen Brent Webb and his wife, Neadra, Darren Ray Webb and his wife, Brandy, and Leslie Leon Webb and his wife, Magen, all of Perry; two daughters: Sheryl Allene Leigh and her husband, Larry, of Stillwater, and Brenda Marcella Vollmer and her husband, Randy, of Perry; eleven grandchildren: Angela Leigh, Jennifer McKee and her husband, Walt, Clint Leigh and his wife, Merodie, Edie Crim and her husband Jeremiah, Eric Webb, Jeanna Webb Browne and her husband Corey, Tara Webb Dodd and her husband Jason, Brandon Vollmer and his wife, Mandy, Ryon Vollmer and his wife, Laura, Callee Webb, Spyler and Jaxx Webb; and great-grandchildren: Job and Jaala McKee, Makiah and Tyler Dodd, Tucker Vollmer, Gauge, Emma, and Hannah Browne, and Caleb and Josiah Crim; and one brother, Carl Webb of Tulsa and Perry, as well as many friends. The family will receive visitors on Friday, January 15, 2010 from 6p.m. to 8p.m. at Perry Funeral Home. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Stella and Irvin Webb: one brother, Gene Webb; and one sister: Elma Webb Masters. Memorials may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church building project in care of Perry Funeral Home, 203 E. Fir, Perry, Ok, 73077. Services have been entrusted to Perry Funeral Home.
