Alvin was born on October 22, 1937 in Calumet, Oklahoma to Mr and Mrs. Floyd Ellison. He grew up in Calumet where he attended Mistletoe School. In December of 1950 the family moved to Muskogee County where he attended McLain Schools and later Webbers Falls High School. Alvin joined the Army in 1957, and after attending basic training at Ft. Chafee, AR, worked as a military mechanic in Hamburg, Germany for three years. After returning to Muskogee from the service he found work as a heavy equipment mechanic. In the late 1960s Alvin moved to Tuskahoma and established a business with his father Floyd: Floyds Dozer Service, where he worked until his retirement in 2008. After retirement, he still found time to help fix dozer equipment for other operators. Alvin was a member of the Clayton Church of Christ where he served many years as the church treasurer. Alvin was very ornery and enjoyed playing jokes on his family and friends. In his spare time, he enjoyed doing puzzles, crosswords, as well as fishing and feeding the deer and birds that he shared his property with. He also enjoyed traveling, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Alvin was a wonderful husband, a caring father, a loving grandfather, and a faithful friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Alvin is survived by his wife Carmen of the home, son Earl Cook and wife Jennifer of Stillwater, sister Jane Coker of Meeker, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marjorie Loe, and brother-in-law Wayne Coker.
