Anna Elizabeth Dean, 41, passed away at the family’s home in Cushing, Oklahoma on Wednesday morning, April 7, 2021 after a two-year courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
Born on Friday, February 22, 1980 at 9:35 pm at William Newton Memorial Hospital in Winfield Kansas, she was the precious and welcomed daughter of Donna M. (Youngblood) Dean and the late William C. Dean. On March 2, 1980, Anna was bathed into the holy waters of Baptism. Anna attended Preschool 3 - Grade 6 at Trinity Lutheran School and then continued her education, Grades 7-12, at USD 465 Winfield. She also attended college at Cowley County College in Arkansas City, Kansas.
Anna’s years of employment were mainly engaged in human resources and payroll. The past twelve years, Anna worked for Chenega Corporation, an Alaskan Native company, as a payroll tax accountant. Moving from the Alaska Northern Lights to the Oklahoma sunsets, Anna was always a conscientious, dedicated worker for Chenega and other employers.
Anna loved the quietness of country living; feeding alfalfa pellets to the neighboring cows; watching, at home, the constant motion of hummingbirds swoon in for sweet nectar; sitting for hours working jigsaw puzzles; and watched with excitement as the Oklahoma thunderstorms rolled in. She was an avid reader, enjoyed attending live concerts, loved to laugh and play little pranks on coworkers/friends, and loved socializing with her dear friends that she had maintained since high school. Anna always had a positive disposition with everyone she knew and lived her life by the Golden Rule.
The family is grateful to Eric D. Rains, the love of Anna’s life, for his exceptional caregiving skills these past months and his excellent commitment in tending to Anna’s daily needs.
Anna is survived by her mother, Donna M. Dean (Cushing, OK), her brother, Loren C. Dean (Cushing, OK), Eric D. Rains (Cushing, OK) and her beloved dogs, Blue and Kahleesi.
