Arthur Henry Voise, 96, of Perry Oklahoma was the son of Charles Henry and Clara Mae (Ewy) Voise. He was born on May 19, 1919 in Perry Oklahoma and died on December 22, 2015 in Perry, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2015 at the Zion Lutheran Church, East of Perry with burial to follow at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home of Perry, Oklahoma. Visitation will be held from 12 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel, Perry. He married Marjorie Louise Rupp on June 10th, 1941 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, East of Perry and was soon called to active duty nine months later. Art was a veteran who served his country with the U.S. Army during World War II where he would spend the next four years of his life without his new bride in the South Pacific surviving several landings, along with being sent to travel to Hiroshima 30 days after the war ended only to survive the after effects of the bomb. After returning home from war, Art farmed with his brother Ernest, and while farming he and his brother started the Gibble Gas Station in 1955 and later sold it in 1959. Art went to work for Ditch Witch as a Machinist and then retired after working there for twenty-five years. Art was a wonderful provider; his work became his hobby even after retiring. He owned and operated Art"s Machine shop at his home working as a Machinist for many years. He enjoyed maintaining a vegetable garden, yearly. He was a carpenter by trade and managed to help build several homes throughout his lifetime along with the remodeling of several rental properties. Art was a respected, admired, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed. He was a lifetime member of the Zion Lutheran Church where he attended for many years and also served on the Church Council and the Cemetery Board for a number of years. Memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church in care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home. Art is survived by his wife Marjorie; three sons and one daughter, Larry and his wife Suzanne (Davis) Voise of Perry, Ron and his wife Teresa (Friend) Voise of Edmond, Jim Voise of Perry and Linda and her husband Danny Kroll of Perry; (13) grandchildren, Kristi Voise of Oklahoma City, the late Scott Voise, Tara and her husband Nathan Smith of Perry, Nathan Voise and his wife Regan of Durango, Colorado, Sheila and her husband Anthony Stovall of Edmond, Chandra and her husband Matt Menendez of Edmond, Chelsea Kroll of Edmond, Jonathan Kroll of Perry and Hannah and her husband Devin Briegge of Stillwater; (7) great-grandchildren Pierce Voise, Ashton, Kiley and Boston Stovall, all of Edmond, Lillian and Lelah Voise of Durango, Colorado and Landree Smith of Perry; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Clara; one sister, Lavern Davidson, one brother Ernest Voise, and one grandchild, Scott Voise.
