Barry was born on Jan 23, 1963 in Ponca City, OK to Carl and Rogene (Carriger) Moreland. He attended school in Hobart before the family relocated to Payne County in 1969. He graduated from Perkins High School in 1981.
Barry was a welder by trade, having attended Tulsa Welding School before obtaining his BS in agricultural economics from Langston University. He worked for Wittwer Construction on a span bridge crew for several years before taking a lending position with USDA in Enid. Over the next 13 years, he worked in lending for Federal Land Bank and Security National Bank. He relocated back to Payne County in 2000 to work for BancFirst. In 2008, he joined the lending staff at Stroud National Bank where he was Branch President in Perkins. He made many dear friends in his career and those who worked with him can attest to his orneriness and sense of humor. He was a prankster and made work days fun.
Barry was a loving father who was very proud of his daughter, Addie. In 2005, he married Kendra Snider and added two more daughters to his family, Gracen and Mattlin, whom he accepted as his own. He was a very devoted daddy and loved all of his girls deeply, going out of his way every day for them. He was an excellent dad.
Barrys second love was golf. He was a member of Cimarron Trails Golf Club in Perkins. He always looked forward to mens league play and his golf buddies were a special group of friends.
If he wasnt at work or golfing, youd probably find Barry on the lawn mower or busy in his shop. He was a skilled craftsman who was proud of the home he remodeled himself and he had a carpentry project going at most any time. He enjoyed living down the road from his dad and was readily available to help Carl with anything needed on the farm. Family was extremely important to Barry and he supported his daughters many activities, made time for weekend getaways with Kendra and simply enjoyed camping, fishing and riding four-wheelers with the family. He liked to cook on the grill and was always ready to have a shrimp boil for friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his mother Rogene Moreland and an infant brother Rocky Moreland. He is survived by his wife Kendra Moreland of the home; three daughters: Addie Wright and husband T.J. of Cushing, OK and their children Zoe and Cayden, Gracen Stanek and Mattlin Stanek; father Carl Moreland and wife Donna of Stillwater, OK; three siblings: Ronay Myers of CA, Penny Spillman and husband David of McAlester, OK, and Carla Pittman and husband Mark of Stillwater, OK, as well as two foster sisters, Cassey and Mona. He is also survived by numerous nieces, and nephews and close friends.
