Beatriz Vivar

May 13, 1933 — January 14, 2020

Beatriz Vivar of Stillwater, OK, passed away peacefully in her family’s presence in Moreno Valley, California on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at the age of 86.
Beatriz was born in Apizaco Tlaxcala, Mexico on May 13, 1933. She grew up in Veracruz, Mexico, where she met her late husband, Jorge Vivar. They dated from a young age after he won her heart by ringing the bell on his bicycle as he passed her house. He did this to signal his love for her, and to also enrage her older brothers. They were married February 23, 1953. Shortly after their marriage, they became parents to three lovely children, Hector, Dora, and Lilia.
Beatriz and her family moved from Mexico to Milwaukee, WI in 1964 to pursue a more prosperous life in the United States. The family then moved to Stillwater, OK in 1981 to continue Jorge’s career with Mercury Marine. During their time in Stillwater, they would welcome many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, become US citizens and purchase a home. Jorge and Beatriz were married for 48 wonderful years.
Beatriz was completely devoted to her 3 children, 11 grandchildren (Tere, Ben, Jennifer, Chris, Liz, Dustin, Steve, Ryan, Joshua, Angela, and Rachel), and 17 great-grandchildren (Jonathan, Christian, Dylan, Amaya, Jorge, Joshua, Isaac, Mark, Isabella, Vincent, Carter, Logan, Aldyn, Gage, Madden, Allison, and Austyn).
She practiced her faith with her church family at New Covenant Fellowship in Stillwater and made many special friends during her years there. One of her favorite bible verses was, ‘But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord’. Joshua 24:15 She loved to knit, crochet, bake cookies and prepare delicious meals for her family and friends. She especially loved her loyal companion, her miniature schnauzer, Odie.
Beatriz is preceded in death by her husband, Jorge Vivar, son, Hector Vivar, two sisters, Flora and Eloisa; and two brothers, Gerardo and Luis.
She is survived by her two daughters, Dora Lonero and Lilia Louis; sister, Hilda; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Beatriz was a strong woman with Godly values and leaves behind a legacy of grace, humility, and unconditional love for her family. She will be greatly missed by many.
“Te quieremos mucho Mom, Abuelita, Biswita, and Weeweetah, Buelis, and Wuelita. Que suenes con los angelitos.”
