Bernice Smith

Smith, 62, of Ralston, passed from this life on December 11, 2012 surrounded by those she loved. A celebration of her life will be held at 12:00pm Thursday, December 13, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Hominy, OK.
Bernice was born on September 21, 1950 to Thurman and Lillie Merrell Thomas in Hominy, OK. She grew up and attended school in Wynona, OK. In the late 1970s Bernice moved to Garland, TX. She raised her children in Garland until moving to Ralston, OK to marry the love of her life, Cleveland Bud Smith in 1996.
Bernice and Bud enjoyed their many years together. Some of their best memories are of their many trips to camp for weeks at a time in Colorado. Bernice was a generous, caring and vibrant woman who enjoyed her family. She was never happier than when she was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents and her brother: James Thomas. She is survived by her husband Cleveland Bud Smith, of the home. 5 children: Shelly Kennedy of Hominy, OK Brian Kennedy and wife Shelley, of Rowlett, TX. Jerry Kennedy and wife Marissa, of Wylie, TX Samuel Kennedy and wife Kelly, of Mesquite, TX and Katherine Kennedy of Allen, TX. Three Stepchildren: Abby Manley and husband Brian, Amy Blankenship and husband Max, and Clint Smith and wife Trish. 13 siblings: Rita Sawyer, Harold Thomas, Thurman Wayne Thomas, Walter Thomas, Gerald Thomas, Keith Thomas, Gary Thomas, Margie McClintock, Sandy Kelly, Cynthia Dreadfullwater, Linda Pence, Bobby Thomas and Larry Thomas. Numerous nieces and nephews. Grandchildren: Rachel, Colton, Miranda, Wyatt, Brittany , Matthew, Mark, Sammie Jo, Alex, Sydney, Makenzie, Jeffrey, Justin, Jolie, Coy, and Crystal. 5 Great Grandchilden: Lane Thomas, Karly, Sage, Gage, and Cylon
