Betty Jo Trimble, 90, passed from this life on Sunday, February 08, 2015 in Guthrie, OK. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Perkins. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Perkins, OK.
Betty was born on December 13, 1924 in Johnson, Arkansas to Frank and Ather (Crawford) Stanphill. She grew up in Arkansas and graduated from Alpena High School. After high school, Betty worked as a waitress. She enjoyed the restaurant scene, which inspired her to open her own. Betty started the Perkins Caf. She made some of the best burgers, chicken, and chili in the Perkins area.
Throughout Bettys adult life, she had three husbands; Gene Wasson, Doyle Russell, and Harland Roy Trimble, from which she had six children. She was family oriented and loved spending as much time possible with her children and grandchildren. Betty had many hobbies, including gardening, oil painting, traveling, and watching the Oklahoma State football and basketball teams. She spent hours making sure her garden looked picture perfect. Betty traveled all across the United States and even ventured over the pond to see parts of Europe.
Betty was a kind, loving woman who loved her Lord and Savior, her family and everything about her life. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ather Stanphill; three husbands, Gene Wasson, Doyle Russell, and Harland Roy Trimble; three sisters, Glenna, Dorothy Nell, and Veneita.
Betty is survived by six children, Sherman Russell and wife, Margaret, Norman Russell, Darrell Russell and wife, Martha, Denzel Russell and wife, Gaye, Roy K. Trimble, Billie Gray and husband, Mike; three siblings, Nadine Dill, Alta Reeser, Leo Stanphill; twelve grandchildren, Linda, Jenny, Christine, Eric, Paul, Dena, Shelley, Christy, Patty, Cindy, Ashley, Connor, and numerous great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bettys name to the Susan G. Komen charity, in care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, 5106 N. Washington. Stillwater, OK 74075.
