Betty Louise Cellan

Betty Louise (Drake) Cellan, 88, of Pawnee, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Southern Oaks Care Center in Pawnee, Oklahoma. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 12, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater, OK. A private interment will be held at a later date at Rose Hill Cemetery in Oklahoma City, OK.

Betty was born on February 25, 1926 in Sapulpa, OK. She grew up in Sapulpa and attended Sapulpa High School until she graduated in 1945. She had many loves in her life. Her first love was and will always be her husband, Curtis Cellan. They united in marriage on April 5, 1961 in Sapulpa. Betty would often be found in the kitchen, because she enjoyed cooking, and made sure everyone in her family was fed well. She really loved to cook fried chicken, and the main reason was because she really wanted to eat it herself. When she was away from the kitchen, she tended to her flower bed. Betty also loved any and all kinds of animals, especially her cat named Dirty Face. She had all these loves, but family was the most important to her. She loved spending time with her grandkids, telling stories or listening to what they have to say.

Betty was a sweet, gentle, and kind person, who always put others needs in front of her own. She will be deeply missed by all.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Curtis Cellan; four siblings, Bill Drake, Ed Drake, Charlie Drake, and Hoover Drake.
She is survived by her son, George Cellan; sister, Ida Lair; four grandchildren, Jeremiah Johnson and wife, Tina, Barbara Stucker and husband, Brad, Sara Baugus and husband, G.H., Amanda Harrington and husband, Joel, and eight great grandchildren.
