Betty Marie Tinker

Betty Tinker, 81 of Stillwater passed away on August 30, 2021. She was born June 2, 1940 to Jack and Blanche Stanley Bates.

Betty spent most of her days in the southern Payne County area, attending school in Tryon and Stillwater and spent most of her professional career in nursing. She enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo and spending time with senior citizen friends and grandchildren.

She was married to Billy John Ritter then later to Robert “Bob” Tinker, Sr. To these unions they were blessed by the births of their children, Shirley Strain of Glencoe, Kelly Ritter (Teresa) of Mulhall, OK, and Lisa Dean (Kevin) of Stillwater, OK.

She is also survived by her sister, Edith Stephens of Stillwater, OK; and grandchildren, Jason Dickason, Tara Dean, Jeremy McFarland, Justin Dean (Marie), Josh Dean, Angelina Ritter, Christopher Ritter, LeeAnn Ritter, Angela Myers (Chris), Jamie Strain, and JD Strain. Also survived by great-grandchildren, Kristen Myers, Alex Myers, Jaxton McFarland, McKenna McFarland, Leightin McFarland, Witten Cryer, and Ronan Cryer; and son-in-law, Jimmy Strain.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, James Bates, Paul Bates, Marion Bates, Luke Bates; and sister, Effie Gazaway; along with son, Billy Wayne Ritter; and granddaughter, Sara B. Ritter.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 3, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Dighton-Marler Funeral Home Chapel, 5106 N Washington, Stillwater with funeral services on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 10:30 AM also at the Dighton-Marler Chapel with Paul Green officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater.

Pallbearers will be Josh Dean, Justin Dean, Jason Dickason, Jeremy McFarland, Jeff Melton, Kelly Ritter, JD Strain and Wayne Boyd.
