Bettye Ruth Montgomery

Bettye R. Montgomery, 81, mother of Stillwater resident, Elizabeth Rakey, granddaughter Kimberly Focht and grandson Carl D. Trammell, Jr. went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 in Stillwater surrounded by her family. Her memorial services have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater and will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Marlow, Oklahoma with Pastor Joe Ligon officiating.
Mrs. Montgomery wa s born on January 27, 1929 in Greenville, Texas to David and Ruth Spears. She married O. C. Montgomery in February of 1949. She attended school in Greenville, and graduated from Dentons Womens College in Sherman, Texas. She worked as a Lab Tech, Dental Tech, and manager for several large apartment complexes from Denver, Colorado to San Francisco, California. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Marlow, Oklahoma.
Bettye is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Rakey of Stillwater and Marie Gregston of Duncan; two granddaughters, Kimberly Focht and husband Tracy of Stillwater, and Dawn Montgomery of California; three grandsons, Carl D. Trammell, Jr. and wife Kyla of Stillwater and Kyle L. Suits of Sulphur Springs, California; six great grandchildren and Kevin Hammack and wife Shelly; two sisters, Kathleen Barnett of Campbell, Texas and Dorothy Abbot of Denver, Colorado.
Preceding her in death was husband O.C. Montgomery, a son Paul D. Montgomery, brother Bill Spears and her parents Dave and Ruth Spears.
