Beverly Jo Schneider passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, January 7, 2024 at her home in Stillwater surrounded by her family. She was 85. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.
Beverly was born May 14, 1938 at her rural home in Beaver County to Virgil and Florence (Roots) Gillespie. She grew up in the Follett, Texas area where she attended school and graduated in 1956. After graduation she earned a business certification in 1957 from John’s Business School.
On May 11, 1957 she and Billie Schneider were married in Follett, Texas and soon moved to Clarendon, Texas where Bill pursued his coaching degree. Eventually Bill and Beverly moved to Woodward, Oklahoma so Bill could be closer to his fishing hole. For the past three years they have made Stillwater their home so they could be closer to family.
Camping was a favorite pastime for Beverly and Bill. They enjoyed spending time with cousins and friends at various camping spots across the country, especially Canton. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren very much and enjoyed spending time with them as well. She will always be remembered around the dining table as Beverly would prepare Bierocks and Kuchen(a favorite German coffee cake) that her family dearly loved and enjoyed. She was also a longtime member of the Methodist faith.
