Bill Hornberger

May 25, 1932 — April 28, 2015

Bill J. Hornberger passed from this life on Tuesday, April 28 at McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel, OK at the age of 83. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Red Rock Cemetery in Calumet, OK.

Bill was born on May 25, 1932 in Piedmont, OK to Clarence and Dolly (Wallace) Hornberger. He grew up and attended school in the El Reno area. After his schooling, Bill proudly served in the United States Navy. He was stationed all across the world. The places he enjoyed serving the most were in Hawaii and in Japan. After Bill was honorably discharged from the Navy, he came back to the states and worked as a truck driver. His routes took him all over the United States and he enjoyed all the views each state had to offer.

Wife Goldie Hall of Stillwater. Bill had five children: Randy, Bill, Shalle, Billy Jr., and Sherry. He loved his kids more than anything in the world. He made sure they had everything they ever needed. He loved spending time in the outdoors, either fishing or hunting. He passed on his love for the outdoors to his children.

Bill was an outstanding son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Dolly (Wallace) Hornberger and his daughter, Sherry Hornberger and granddaughter Tequila Hornberger

Bill is survived by his wife, Goldie Hall of Stillwater; four children: Randy Hornberger of Norman; Bill Joseph Hornberger of Valliant; Shalle Marie Hornberger of Poteau; Billy Joe Hornberger Jr. of Poteau. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
