September 30, 1925 — July 21, 2012

Billie Jac Fitzgerald Wilson, 86, passed peacefully July 21, 2012, in Stillwater. Services will be held at Stillwater Church of Christ on Tuesday, July 24 at 10:30 am, under the direction of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, and at Tipton Church of Christ on Wednesday, July 25 at 10:00 am, under the direction of Tipton Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Hess Cemetery. Public visitation will be held in Stillwater from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday, July 23, and from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm Tuesday, July 24 in Tipton.
Billie was born September 30, 1925 on her uncles homestead near Tipton, Oklahoma to Andrew Jack and Myrtle Petty Fitzgerald. After starting elementary school in the Laing Community, her family moved to Tipton when she was in the third grade. She graduated as salutatorian from Tipton High School in 1943 and, after passing the Civil Service Test, moved to Frederick, Oklahoma with her friend Delsea Faye Gross (Parks) to work at the newly-opened Air Force base during World War II.
On June 16, 1946 Billie married the love of her life, Aubrey Gordon Wilson. They soon moved onto the farm in Jackson County that had been in Aubreys family since 1893. They lived here for most of their 56 years of marriage. In 1993, their farm was recognized as an Oklahoma Centennial Farm by the Oklahoma Historical Society. Aubrey and Billie raised four sons while farming cotton and wheat and raising cattle. In later years, Billie shared many memories of chopping cotton and plowing fields. However, you could always find her in the beauty shop on Fridays. In 1970 Billie began working at Southside School as a teachers assistant, and stayed there for 21 years.
Billie could light up any room with her glowing smile and big laugh. She was always ready to go anywhere. She and Aubrey would take off on weekend shopping trips without notice, and they enjoyed spending time in Branson, Missouri, as well as visiting their childrens families in and around Stillwater. Billie adored Wal-Mart, and could spend all day just browsing. She delighted in feeding the birds, sewing for her granddaughters, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends. Having rarely missed a football or basketball game, she and Aubrey were deemed Tipton High Schools Biggest Fans.
After Aubrey passed away in 2003, Billie enjoyed life in Stillwater near family. She spent a very happy year participating in activities at Stillwater Life Center, where she made many friends. A life-long member of Tipton Church of Christ, she immediately found a home at Stillwater Church of Christ.
She is preceded in death by her husband Aubrey, infant son David Wilson, sister Bobbie Ferguson, and parents.
She is survived by four sons: Randy and wife Donna Wilson, Stillwater; Barry and wife Pam Wilson, Butler; Danny Wilson, Perkins; Terry and wife Denise Wilson, Stillwater; seven grandchildren: Latasha Wilson, Lauren Wilson, Taylor Wilson, Carissa Wilson, Kayleigh Wilson, all of Stillwater; Wyatt and wife Katie Wilson and daughter Zoey, Richlands, NC; Samuel and wife Courtney Wilson, Perkins; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.
