Graveside services for Bill Bunk Turner, Sr., 69, of Stillwater are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Elm Grove Cemetery with Pastor Phyllis Brown officiating. Viewing will be Wednesday, March 31, 2010 from 1 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater.
Bill was born on June 20, 1940 in DeWitt, AR to Johnie Benjamin Turner and Ella Mae (Heard) Turner. He attended schools in AR and OK. He entered the United States Army at the age of 17, where he was able to complete high school and one year of college. Bill married Vivian Todd on January 1, 1962 in DeWitt, AR. They later divorced. He was a family man and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and gardening. Bill passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010 in Oklahoma City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Virginia Brekhus; one brother, Benny Turner; and an infant son.
Bill is survived by one son, Billy Turner, Jr. and wife Judy of Perkins; four daughters, Trina Moore and husband Kelly, Jana Rae Martin and husband Bobby, Tammy Rains and husband Tim, and Joy Lynn Sumpter and husband Mike, all of Stillwater; sixteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren (with two more on the way); four sisters, Rosie Adams of Mayflower, AR, Jane Blaiser of Coyle, Hazel Robnett of Stuttgart, AR, and Rita Turner of Stuttgart, AR; and a host of nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.
Memorial donations may be made in Bills name to the American Cancer Society.
