Binnie Bryanell (Jennings) Hutcherson, 74, was born on October 3, 1949, in Jersey City, New Jersey, and went to Heaven on August 11, 2024, in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
She was born in Jersey City, NJ, and daughter to Ethel B. Mealer and William Bryan Jennings. She moved with her family from New Jersey to Georgia and later settled in El Reno, OK. She graduated from El Reno High School and was a part of the Rainbow Girls, Eastern Stars (Masons), and the El Reno chorus. She attended college at SWOSU (Weatherford, OK) and later married, Henry A. Hutcherson, Jr. She taught choir and music class for elementary through high school students and served as a substitute teacher for many other classes. She then went on to get her nursing degree and worked in several cities as a registered nurse, including McAlester, Cleveland, and Enid, OK, while finishing up her career as a nursing instructor at the Vo-Tech school in Muskogee, OK.
Binnie was always a big part of the church, serving as a Presbyterian elder in two, both McAlester and Tulsa, and involved in any aspect of the choir, even being a choir director on several occasions. Known for her booming Soprano voice, she held her own concert at the Masonic Lodge in McAlester, OK and was commonly asked to sing at weddings and funerals. Binnie was a God-fearing person and lived by The Bible’s word. She had sometimes a quirky personality, fun hobbies in arts and crafts, playing cards and dominoes and liked collecting eclectic household items and gifts. She was a strong, loyal mom, grandmother and friend and will always be known for her infectious laugh, funny wit, sweet smile and charm!
Among those deeply mourning her loss are her living family members, Chad A. Hutcherson, Amanda K. Fuller and husband Amory S., her grandchildren Madelynn, Luke, Eliana, Elias, and Emelia. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ethel B. Mealer and William Bryan Jennings and her late daughter-in-law Kristin A. Kulling.
