Bobby Ben Burk

Bobby Burk, 87 years, 5 months & 8 days of age; father of 7, grandfather of 19, great grandfather of 22 and great-great grandfather of 1, is experiencing a joyful reunion with God, his momma, brothers & sisters in heaven, along with many other relatives and friends. Born at home, west of Stillwater, OK, to Dora Phillips Burk & John Calvin, he was the 5th of 8 children. Bobby grew up a farm boy in the last years of the Great Depression and Dust Bowl, helping his momma raise his two sisters, Mary and Jeanne. Working as the OSU horticulture greenhouse superintendent, he met and married Elnora Seba in 1949. Then came the Korean Conflict, in which Bobby served in the US Army, Oklahoma 45th Engineers. Returning to Stillwater after serving 2-3 years, there came 7 children (2 twin girls, 3 boys and 2 more girls). While Dad and Mom parted ways, they always came together for family reunions and other celebrations.

Dad saw each day as a blessing; loved to be around family, horses, babies, his mommas apple pie, and reading Gods word. We could always find him outside on his 40 acres south of Stillwater as well as having worked a few years at Ace Hardware, Stillwater. In the 1960s, he was a traveling preacher for OK Cimarron Baptist Association.
Preceded in death by parents, brothers: Jackie, Calvin, Roy, & Raymond; sisters: Mary and Mae; Bobby is survived by sister Jeanne (spouse Jim), children: Connie (spouse Bobby), Bonnie, Bill, Judy (spouse Robert), James (spouse Misty), Paul (spouse Libby), and Kelly.
The family gratefully thanks the tremendous doctor, nurses and other medical professionals at Oklahoma Heart Hospital.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 27, 2016 in the funeral home chapel.
