A Celebration of Life honoring Bobby Gene Ratliff Jr. and Ruby Faye Ratliff, both 56 years old, will be held beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home Chapel, Perry, 203 East Fir Avenue. The couple passed away February 18, 2020, at their home near Red Rock.
Bobby was born December 31, 1963, in Ponca City, the son of Bobby Gene Ratliff Sr. and Bessie Cales Ratliff. He grew up in Red Rock and was a 1982 graduate of Marland High School. His hobbies were fishing and hunting quail and White Tail Deer. He was employed at Ditch Witch for 30 years.
Faye, as she was known by her friends, was born April 6, 1963, in Millen, Georgia, the daughter of Marvin and Dru Wilson Arnold. Her dad was in the military serving in the US Army and she moved with her family to live in several different locations throughout her childhood. She was a 1982 graduate of a Georgia High School. She was employed as a secretary at Frontier School for eight years. Her favorite thing to do was “going fishing with my ‘honey man’ (husband),” as she was often heard to say. She also loved taking care of her grandsons.
The couple were married August 16, 1986, in Ponca City, and were wed for 33 years. They established their home near Red Rock. They are the parents of two sons: Devin Ratliff and his wife Ashley, Cashion, Oklahoma, and Dustin Ratliff and his wife Stephani, Red Rock, Oklahoma. They have five grandchildren.
Bobby has two sisters: Cindy Lane, Red Rock, and Jan Burk, Marland. Faye has three brothers and one sister: Michael Arnold, Greg Arnold, Chuck Arnold, and Dallas Karcher.
They were preceded in death by Bobby’s father, Bobby Gene Ratliff Sr., and Faye’s sister, Wanda Sue Arnold.
The Celebration of Life arrangements have been entrusted to Dighton-Marler Funeral Home-Perry. Memorial contributions may be made in their honor to the Red Rock Rural Fire Department c/o Dighton-Marler Funeral Home, P.O. Box 189, Perry, Oklahoma 73077.
