Bobby Gene Harper went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 16, 2020. Bobby was born on May 14, 1933, in Purcell, Oklahoma, to Silas Lee Harper and Ethel Bryant. Bobby had three children: Iris Judy Evanchyk, Ronald Gene Harper, and Roger Lee Harper. He had five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews: along with others who loved him very much.
Bobby worked for the State Highway Department from 1951 to 1986. He grew up in Purcell and lived there until 1977, when he moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma. He married Janet Maxine Jones on March 29, 2000. They honeymooned in Alaska and enjoyed traveling all over the United States. They resided on the land they purchased overlooking Lake McMurty and designed and built their dream log home. Here he was able to enjoy the outdoors, animals, and gardening he loved.
Bobby enjoyed following the Professional Bull Riding. He attended PBR events in Oklahoma and other states: including the finals in Las Vegas several times. Bobby had many hobbies that included building things, garage sales, and antiquing. He was an avid coon hunter and raised treeing walker coon dogs, trained dogs, and attended many events around the country.
Bobby was laid to rest at Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater, Oklahoma under the direction of Dighton Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.
