Bobby “Bob” Ray Hendrix of Buffalo Valley, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2021 in Fort Smith, Arkansas after a brief illness. He was 72. Graveside services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Bob was born August 11, 1948 in Bakersfield, California to Bert Chester Hendrix and Deno L. (Young) Hendrix. He spent his younger years in Fresno County before his family moved to Oklahoma. He attended and graduated from Buffalo Valley Public Schools in 1968.
Bob installed carpet for a living most of his life and would often be referred to as “carpet Bob”. He enjoyed hunting for Indian arrowheads, and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his two sisters, Ona Ely and husband Carl of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Pam Brown of Buffalo Valley, Oklahoma; one aunt, Polly Perdue of Buffalo Valley, Oklahoma; ex-wife and dear friend Lou Hendrix of Buffalo Valley, Oklahoma; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Visitation will be Monday, June 21, 2021 from 9AM to 5PM at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home in Stillwater. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at 1PM at Cupco Cemetery in Yanush, Oklahoma with Lee Allen Humphrey officiating.
