Bobby Martin, otherwise known as Power Dog, The Legend, Oney and Prince Albert passed away at his home in Stillwater on Wednesday, May 10, 2019. He was 77. Services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.
A celebration of Bobby’s life will take place on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 2:00pm at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chester Garringer officiating. Interment will follow at Sumner Cemetery.
Bobby was born on October 31, 1941 in Greenwood County, Kansas to Claude and Juanita (Sharp) Martin. He grew up in Kansas and Oklahoma and graduated from Eureka High School in Eureka, Kansas. He was self-employed as a trainer in the thoroughbred horse racing business. Bobby was an avid outdoorsman and a very thoughtful man.
He is survived his significant other, Elaine Chesbro of the home; one son, Steve Martin and wife Brooke of Morrison, OK; one brother, Jerry Martin of Stillwater, OK; two sisters, Brenda Martin of Stillwater, OK, and Marsha Marlin of Ripley, OK; one grandson, Montana Hadley Martin; and one granddaughter, Georgia Belle Martin. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Erva Jean Bergman, Virginia Ridge, Betty Maples, and Sue Hadley; and one brother; Jack Martin.
