Bonnie Jean Taylor "Little Ma" "Honey Ma"

September 3, 1932 — September 29, 2020

Bonnie leaves behind 3 children and their spouses. Rhonda Gaston and husband Paul, Michael Taylor and wife Brenda, Sheryl Mack Sanders and husband John. 11 grandchildren, Cheyenne Taylor, Jonathon Taylor, Melissa Taylor Reinhardt, Kimberly Taylor, Rebecca Taylor, Carley Taylor, Cassidy Taylor Armstrong, Timothy Gaston, Joshua Gaston, Marielle Gaston Sekula, Braeden Mack and 17 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son Ricky Taylor, 4 siblings, Linwood McCullar, Doyle McCullar, Willie Smith, Patsy Bone, her parents, Ben and Mary McCullar of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Bob Taylor.

Bonnie was born in Byars, Oklahoma. She and Bob raised their children in Cushing. Later, they moved to Perry where they opened Quarter Cove/Backroom BBQ, the local hangout. There they served the best hamburgers and Bonnie’s specialty, “Cinnamon Things." She loved all the teens that came in to play pool and arcade games, of which Centipede and Pac-Man were her favorites.

She loved being a mom, having mountains of chocolate chip cookies ready when her kids came home from school. “Congo Bars” and chocolate gravy were some of her favorite sweet recipes.

Bonnie was a magician with a needle; she could mend the worst of clothing malfunctions making them look almost brand new. Not to mention, her ability to store things was uncanny.
Her grandbabies were the light of her life. Because she had a small cat, her first grandchild Cheyenne gave her the affectionate name “Little Ma." A few years later, her granddaughter Marielle added the name “Honey Ma” because her grandma was so sweet like honey!

Before the loss of her son Ricky, the two would call each other every week to discuss who would be voted out on Survivor. She loved watching the “Price is Right”, which she called “The Wheel” as well as "Walker, Texas Ranger." Right now, she is sitting in Heaven with her son, waiting for Bob Barker (Bon Marker) and Texas Ranger to join them.

Her family will have a celebration of her life at a later date.
