Born in Lawton, Oklahoma, on March 19, 1948, to Myles and Margaret Bernard, Ernest Loren Bernard passed away on August 7, 2012.
Ernie graduated from Eisenhower High School in Lawton, Ok in 1966 and Cameron University in 1978 with a Bachelors Degree in Education. He served in the United States Air Force from 1967-70, during which he was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He taught school in Faxon and Cache, OK and Durango, Co. In 1993 he and his family moved back to the Oklahoma City area to be closer to relatives. He became very involved in church and prison ministries, both strong passions of his.
Ernie is survived by his wife Vivian Bernard, his sister Barbara Traughber, his son Jonathan Bernard, his daughter Jessica Lucas, 6 grandchildren, 2 nephews, and 1 niece.
