Buddy G. Johnson

December 12, 1927 — February 8, 2013

Buddy G. Johnson, 85, of Glencoe, passed from this life peacefully on February 8, 2013 with his family by his side. Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home and will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, February 11, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater.
Buddy was born in Stillwater, OK to John and Ann Johnson. He grew up and attended school in the Stillwater area, eventually graduating from Stillwater High School. He attended Oklahoma State University before enlisting in the United States Navy in 1952. On March 14 1952, Buddy married the love of his life, LouAnn Greene. Buddy was a veteran of the Korean War, serving his country as a Corpsman. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, Buddy returned to Stillwater and began a family and a successful career as a painting contractor. He joined his brother Max Johnson and formed Johnson Brothers Painting. After several years, the brothers separated and he began Buddy Johnson Painting and served the Stillwater community for over 45 years.
Buddy was a member of Believers Fellowship and several other organizations in the Stillwater area. He was an avid hunter and an excellent golfer, but his true love was his wife of 60 years and 11 months, LouAnn. Following his retirement in 2007, he enjoyed reading and being around his family. Buddy Johnson was a perfectionist when dealing with his trade. Although his talent and dedication will fade away, his spirit will continue to guide and impact the family and friends he leaves behind.
Buddy is survived by his dedicated wife LouAnn, of the home. A daughter Donnell Patten and husband Charles, of Glencoe, OK. A son Kelly Johnson and wife Debbie, of Oklahoma City, OK. A son Kyle Johnson and wife Kelly, of Stillwater, OK. A son Ken Johnson and wife Rebecca, of Tulsa, OK. 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 3 nephews, and 3 half brothers.
He preceded in death by his parents, step father Joe Stampley, a brother Max Johnson, a grandson John Bryan Johnson, and a granddaughter Emily Patten.
