Calvin Coolidge Farmer, 96 of Stillwater, was reunited with his loving wife on Wednesday, January 19, 2022.
Calvin was born July 13, 1925 in Blair, Oklahoma to Burnum and Lula Mae (Lee) Farmer. He joined the navy at the young age of 17 and received an honorable discharge after his years of service. He was proud of his country and honored to be called a WWII veteran.
In 1946 he married Betty Rose Petway. They were together for 30 years and were blessed with four wonderful children. After this union was dissolved, he and Sue Wyse were married in Gainesville, Texas on July 27, 1976. They shared 35 good years together until her passing in 2011.
He worked for several years as a mechanic and at Tinker Air Force Base. Calvin enjoyed all kinds of sports, especially O.U. Sports, and played baseball in a civic league. He enjoyed playing the harmonica, mandolin and banjo, and spending time with his family. He will probably be remembered most by the many students at Stillwater Public Schools for his yodeling skills.
Survivors include his children, Ricki Wells and husband Greg of Oklahoma City, OK., Denise Jones of Houston, TX., Nancy Medlin and husband Shelby of Wagoner, OK., Adam Carroll and wife Lisa of Guthrie, OK., and Jason Carroll and daughter-in-law, Karen Farmer of Stillwater, OK; eighteen grandchildren, Gina, Mary, Emily, Julie, Steven, Levi, Leesa, Edward, Jessica, William, Wyatt, Brandi, Eli, Kelly, Chris, and Emma; 34 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sue; son, Brian Farmer; grandchildren, Debra and Max,; siblings, Raymond, D.B., Truman “Red”, Lois “Monk”, Doris, Leora, and Leota.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 9AM to 8PM at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater. Funeral services will be 2PM Thursday, January 27, 2022 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Stillwater. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater will full military honors.
