Carol Sue Sullins

Carol Sue Sullins, 80, of Perry, Oklahoma was born March 16, 1940 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Claud and Mary (Deemer) Hixon. Carol grew up in the McPherson, Kansas before her family moved back to Oklahoma. She graduated from Garber High School in 1958. When she met Wendell Sullins, it was love at first sight. They were married on May 22, 1959 at the Christian Church in Ceres, Oklahoma. They have been blessed with 60 years and 11 months of love, friendship, and happiness.
After a lengthy illness, she passed on to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She is free of all life’s struggles and is now resting in the eternal presence of her Heavenly Father. Carol’s faith in her Lord and Savior has always been the rock that she leaned on throughout her life. Carol and her family have been a part of the Perry Nazarene Church for more than 50 years.
Carol was a wonderful cook, famous for her delicious chocolate chip cookies and soul-warming biscuits. Her favorite pastime was making quilts and sewing. There are countless beautiful quilts that Carol has put together by hand, sewing each stitch with love and passion for the craft. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family as they enjoy the beauty of her handywork for many years to come.
Survivors include her husband, Wendell; two sons, Russell Sullins and wife Jeannie of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Mike Sullins and wife Brenda of Perry, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Eric Sullins of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Amanda Brownlow and husband Danny of Owasso, Oklahoma, Abby Sullins of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Justin Mistler of Perry, Oklahoma, Sharlee Roberts of Durant, Oklahoma; two great-grandchildren, Calvin Brownlow and Jaxon Mistler. She was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Connie (Sullins) Roberts.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 24, 2020 from noon until 6PM at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Perry. Carol will be laid to rest next to her daughter Connie during a private graveside service on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry.
