Carole Anne Anderson

Carole Anne (Sanford) Anderson passed away in her home Tuesday, January 2, 2018.  She was 74 years old.  Carole was a long time resident of Stillwater, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.

Carole was born on May 4, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois to Chester and Alice Sanford.  She was the oldest of three, having younger siblings Tom and Susan.   After growing up in Chicago, Carole moved to Oklahoma and attended Oklahoma State University.  Carole earned both a B.S. and Master's degree from OSU.  She then started a career in research with her alma mater where she worked until her retirement.  Carole married John Anderson January 6, 1985.  They were married for 31 years. 

Carole is survived by her siblings, Tom Sanford  of Stillwater, OK, Susan Ulmer of Oklahoma City; daughters, Joy Anderson of Perry, OK, Amanda Anderson and Heather Anderson of Stillwater, OK, Lorie Anderson of Wichita, KS; grand children, Robert, Libby, Evan, Tayler, Kaylee, Bryce, and Colbi.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John Anderson.

Carole Sanford will be honored at a funeral service on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home Chapel, 5106 N. Washington, Stillwater, OK.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 2:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home. At a later date, she will be laid to rest in the Little Cemetery beside her husband, John.
