Carolyn Gaye Lorenz

February 15, 1958 — July 20, 2021

Carolyn Gaye Pinkston Lorenz of Stillwater Oklahoma was a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. Carol loved the sunshine immensely and she followed the sunbeam to leave this world at 6:12am on July 20, 2021 at age 63 and we can be assured she quickly met her sister, JoAnn, for a cup of coffee to talk endlessly.

Carol loved spending time sunbathing and would pack a lunch and haul her girls to the pool from sunup to sundown while lathering in baby oil with iodine added in as soon as the weather was warm. She always had music playing in the home and was often walking around the house with the longest phone cord ever (since cordless phones did not yet exist) talking to loved ones for hours and hours. She was probably cooking while talking on the phone and nobody could cook a better pork chop than Carol!

Carol is survived by her two daughters, Stacey and Crystal Lorenz, and her two grandchildren, Matthew and Allison. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Kuhn of Timbo Arkansas, brother, Mark Pinkston of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and half-sister, Midge Branscum.

She was born to Henry C. Pinkston and Esta Lee Martin Pinkston on February 15, 1958 in Culp, Arkansas. She worked at various companies over the years such as Oberlin Color Press and Oklahoma State University.

She will have a beautiful headstone next to her parents, her sister, JoAnn Pinkston Morales, her brothers, John Henry and Phillip Lee Pinkston, half-brother, Charles Pinkston, and half-sister, Lavern Pinkston Curtis.

Carol passed after struggling from kidney and liver failure and a memorial service will be planned at a later date.
