Carolyn Sue Martin

Carolyn Sue Martin, 69, of Perkins, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2016, at Grace Living Center, Stillwater, Oklahoma. Services will be held Friday, September 23, 2016 in the Old Church Center, Oklahoma Territorial Plaza, Perkins, Oklahoma at 10:00am. Interment will follow at the Perkins Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2016 from 9:00a.m. to 8:00p.m. at Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.
Carolyn was born in Van Nuys, California, the daughter of Harold Willis Martin and Bonnie Maxine Emerson. She attended Perkins Public Schools, graduating in 1965 and Oklahoma State University.
Carolyn worked in Boston, Massachusetts; Baltimore, Maryland; and Tulsa, Oklahoma. While working for Blue Cross/Blue Shield in Tulsa, she was responsible for training employees in the San Diego office as well as offices in Texas. After moving back to Perkins, Carolyn was employed by the Warren Clinic of Stillwater for several years.
While living in Tulsa, she was an avid fan of Tulsa University Basketball, attending most of the home games. After moving to Perkins, she became a fan of the Oklahoma State University Cowboys Basketball team. Over the years, she also enjoyed macram, knitting, and crocheting, cooking, gourmet candy making, reading and watching movies. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family she love d her niece and nephews and her Goddaughter very much and loved every minute she spent with them. Carolyn was very fond of the old Church Center in the Oklahoma Territorial Plaza in Perkins.
Carolyn was a kind, caring woman who was loved by those fortunate enough to have known her and who considered her a dear friend. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her sister, Helen (Danny) Smith, Burleson, Texas; niece Elizabeth Dru Bishop (Josh), Tulsa, Oklahoma; nephews: Alan Neal Barker, Tulsa, Oklahoma; Benjamin Fleisher, Edmond, Oklahoma; great-nieces Blake Bishop and Hazel Barker; and greatnephews Brady Bishop and Cruz Wilkin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Perkins Community Foundation, PO Box 667, Perkins, OK 74059-0667. Designated for Old Church Center.

Pallbearers are Robert Lafollette, Kenny Smith, Jimmie Walker, Kennith Poling, Bob Harshman, and Jim Niles. Honorary Pallbearers are Dorothy Clark, Margaret Walker, Eloise Hastings, Charlotte McKey, Helene Lachance, Ellen Wortham, and Mary Ann Thain.
