Carolyn Sue Vassar

Carolyn Vassar, 79, of Pawnee, OK, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 2:00PM at Euchee Valley Cemetery in Cushing, Oklahoma with Pastor Tim Jolly officiating. Visitation will be 9:00AM to 8:00PM Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater. Family will greet guests from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.

Carolyn was born December 18, 1938 in Agra, OK, to Noble and Beatrice (Davis) Walters. She grew up in the Agra community where she attended public school. Carolyn married Dennis Vassar on March 17, 1960 in Cushing, OK. They farmed together for 40 years in the Cushing area. She enjoyed spending time with family and traveling. She would often combine the two with family trips to the Caribbean, Alaska, Florida and Branson.

Survivors include her children, Dennis Wade Vassar and wife Sherri of Cushing, OK, Kim Vassar and husband Dwayne White of Pawnee, OK; grandson, Dustin Vassar of Cushing, OK; great-granddaughter, Lani Vassar; two brothers, Jackie Walters of Cushing, OK, and Jimmie Walters of Agra, OK; sister, Peggy Inskeep of Branson, MO; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Vassar in 2005; parents; sister, Ann Doak; two brothers, Guy Walters, and Raymond Walters.

She will be greatly missed.
