Charles Chuck Longan, age 77 of Stillwater passed away, Wednesday, March 24, 2010 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His services have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater and will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 29, 2010 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater, Oklahoma with Interment to follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Mr. Longan was born on June 26, 1933 in Blackwell, Oklahoma and was the son of William Ray and Eunice Shoemaker Longan. He was united in marriage to Frances Romero on August 10, 1958 in Glendale, California. He served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Elks Lodge of Stillwater, was a Mason, Shriner and a member of the Eagles Club. He had many interests one of which he enjoying very much was being a Pilot. He loved Drafting, Drawing and had owned Race Horses. He was an avid reader, loved to play cards and dominoes. He retired from the Los Angeles Sheriffs Department and was still very involved in law enforcement. He was very accomplished in everything that he did and lived a life that was larger than life itself. He was a giving individual who loved to give to others but most of all he loved his family. He is survived by his wife Frances of the home in Stillwater; a son, Richard and wife Clarissa of Los Angeles, California; a daughter, Cindy Keig of Stillwater, Okla.; two brothers, James of Lincoln, Nebraska and Roy of Palmdale, California; one sister, Alberta Ropers of Stillwater; two grandchildren, Danielle and husband Jeff and Chelsea Keig of Stillwater. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jerry, Kenneth & Walter Visitation for Mr. Longan will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Stillwater.
