Charles Moved To Perry And Began Working As A Diesel Mechanic For Big J Trucking; And Then He Relocated To 1990, Charlie

November 7, 1961 — July 21, 2012

Charles W. Walker, 50, of Stillwater passed from this life on Saturday, July 21, 2012 in Perry, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Perry and will be held at 10:30 Wednesday, July 25 at First Presbyterian Church in Stillwater. Public visitation will be held from 3pm-8pm on Monday, July 23 at Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Perry.
Charles Wayne Walker was born on November 7, 1961 to Wayne and Lois Walker in Cherokee, OK. Charles grew up as a farm boy and attended school in Cherokee, where he excelled at several sports. Following his high school graduation, Charles attended OSU Tech in Okmulgee where he attained an Associates Degree in Diesel Mechanics.
Charles moved to Perry and began working as a diesel mechanic for Big J Trucking; and then he relocated to Stillwater to work for Quapaw. In the late 1980s Charles accepted a position as a maintenance technician with Armstrong Flooring. In 1990, Charlie married the love of his life and his soul mate, Kaye White Walker. In 1993, Charlie and Kaye had a daughter, Kelsey, who was her daddys girl and his pride and joy. After more than 20 years, Charles retired from Armstrong due to health issues.
When he was not working, Charles loved to golf, fish, and work on anything with an engine. He was a deacon and usher at the First Presbyterian Church in Stillwater, and he was an avid supporter of Oklahoma State Athletics. Most of all, Charles valued his relationship with his wife and daughter, and he made it a priority to attend as many of Kelseys orchestra concerts, dance recitals, and horse shows as possible.
Charles Walker was a kind man who was very easy going. He was a man of few words, but he possessed a quiet strength. He always had a smile on his face and had a good sense of humor. He was a good natured man who was always willing to unselfishly give of his time to help a friend in need. Charlie was a faithful husband, a caring father, a dependable employee, and a loyal friend, and he will be missed by all those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, two infant twin sisters, and his brother, Dr. Dennis Walker. He is survived by his wife Kaye White Walker and his daughter Kelsey Walker, both of Stillwater; his mother Lois Walker of Cherokee, OK; two sisters: Deanna Wheeler and husband Elroy, of Wichita, KS and Nancy Allen of Cherokee, OK; and many nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Hereditary Neurological Disease Center in care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, 203 Fir Street, Perry, OK 73077
