Charles Ray Jacobs passed away on March 11, 2021, to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for all eternity. Affectionately known as “Jake” by all those who knew and loved him, his infectious smile and deep southern drawl will be missed tremendously by family and friends, but by none more so than his beloved wife, Charlotte.
During his life, God used him in a mighty way to promote the gospel of Jesus Christ and to get many souls saved for the Kingdom of Heaven.
Jake was born on June 30, 1939, to Virgil and Minnie Jacobs of Hopkins County, Texas (later the Dallas, Texas, area). He was one of eight siblings. Jake married Charlotte Sue Rhines, originally of Perry, Oklahoma, on February 14, 1985. They lived in Dallas, Texas, for several years where they owned and operated their own trucking business. In 1996, they moved to Perry and continued their trucking business from that location. They later moved to Morrison and then back to Perry. No children were born to their union, but Jake had three children from previous marriages, Kevin Jacobs, Mark Jacobs, and LeAnn Law, all of the Dallas, Texas, area.
Jake was preceded in death by his parents; his mother and father-in-law, Anne and Clyde Rhines; brothers, Ronnie and Ferrell; sister, Betty; and brother-in-law, Jerry Criswell.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte, of the home; his three children, Kevin, Mark and LeAnn; his beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers, James and Bud; sisters, Ann and Jan; sisters-in-law, Susanne Schovanec and Clydene Williams; and brothers-in-law, Rocky Rhines, Richard Williams, and Kenneth Criswell.
Pastor Clydene Williams officiated at a celebration of life and private family service honoring Jake’s life.
