Charles Rudolph Henke

May 14, 1951 — October 31, 2020

Charles Rudolph “Chuck” Henke 1951-2020
Chuck Henke entered his earthly and mortal life on May 14, 1951 in Guthrie, Oklahoma. He was the son of Carl Rudolph Henke and Norma Leah Bodinsteiner Henke. He passed to his spiritual and Heavenly Home on October 31, 2020 at 69 years of age. Along with his older sister, Carla, he was brought up in a faith based home and confirmed in the Christian faith at Zion Lutheran Church in Guthrie, Oklahoma on April 11, 1965. He was also blessed by growing up in Guthrie during the best of times; the 1950’s and 1960’s. Chuck attended Guthrie public schools graduating from Guthrie High School in 1969. Soon after graduation he joined the United States Marine Corps. He was a veteran having served in The Viet Nam War. After his discharge from the Marine Corps, his work and career path took him in many directions. He worked for Oklahoma Gas and Electric “OG&E”, Ditch Witch, and in the petroleum industry. His time spent working in the oil fields was possibly his favorite with stories and tall tales of high adventures. This took him to exciting new places such as Wyoming and other locations. Chuck also worked and traveled with his uncle, Doc Henke, on custom wheat harvest ventures. He enjoyed reading history especially literature on the Civil War.
On May 14, 1979 Chuck married Ronda Curtis Taulman in Perry, Oklahoma. Living in Perry, they eventually move west of Perry to the small town of Lucien, Oklahoma. There Chuck and Ronda raised their two sons, Jeremy Taulman and Aaron Charles Henke. With the death of Ronda’s father and the presence of her family living in the area, Chuck managed and maintained the production of their oil and gas wells on the properties in his later years.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Henke and stepmother, Pauline Henke, his mother Norma Smith and stepfather Bill Smith, one stepbrother Darrel Hampton, and his father in-law Ronnie Curtis.
He is survived by his wife, Ronda, of the home, mother in-law, Georgia Curtis, sons Aaron Charles Henke (Eryn Dinisi), and Jeremy Taulman (Katrina), along with two grandchildren. Other surviving family members include his sister, Carla Lattimore, husband Frank, sister in-law, Sondra Barrett (Dave), brothers, Carl Henke Jr. (Carolyn), Bobby Henke, Gary Hampton (Mel), Richard Hampton, Britt Smith (Patty), Brian Smith, and Susan Henke.
Memorials can be made in Chuck’s honor to the VFW of your choice.
