Charles Ray Willis, a cherished member of the Stillwater and Pawnee communities, was born on September 22, 1959, in Pawnee, Oklahoma, to Archie and Rachel (Sims) Willis. He passed away peacefully on Friday, February 21, 2025, at WestHaven Nursing Home surrounded by his family in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Charles dedicated his life to his work as a handyman, where he displayed a remarkable versatility and willingness to lend a hand at any task. He attended Pawnee Schools, where he laid the foundation for a life marked by hard work and dedication. His commitment to serving others was exemplified in his various roles throughout the years, always ready to help those in need.
Outside of his professional obligations, Charles had a zest for life that was evident in his many hobbies and interests. He took great pleasure in playing dominos, enjoying the thrill of visiting the casino, savoring a cold beer, and immersing himself in the joy of music. These pastimes brought him great joy and offered him moments of relaxation among family and friends.
Charles is survived by his two sisters, Edna Martin and Elnora Shinault, both of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and his two brothers, Sylvester Willis of Cushing, Oklahoma, and Troy Willis of Stillwater, Oklahoma. He shared a close bond with his nephew, Bro Begger Willis, as well as other nieces and nephews who surely carry fond memories of their time together.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Archie and Rachel Willis, and his siblings, Archie Willis, Jr., Ernest Joe Willis, Billy Ray Willis, and Rose Mary Willis. Each of these family members held a special place in his heart, and their memories will forever be cherished.
The family extends a special thanks to Karman Legacy Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Charles's last days, ensuring he was surrounded by dignity and love.
Charles Ray Willis leaves behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and cherished memories that will resonate in the hearts of all who knew him. His spirit will be remembered fondly among family, friends, and the community he so dearly loved.
