Claudia Merle Bartell

Claudia M. Bartell, 92, of Blackwell, passed from this life on Thursday, April 7, 2011 in Ponca City, OK. Services have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Stillwater. A memorial service to celebrate Claudias life will be held at 1:00pm Monday, April 11, 2011 at the Blackwell Community Church with Pastor Dan Sharp officiating. Claudia was born on April 6, 1919 to Samuel and Fannie Elizabeth Faulkner in Powhatan, AR. She was raised and attended school in Powhatan. During the war she moved to Kansas. On May 20, 1954 she married the love of her life, Delbert Bartell. Claudia and Delbert lived in Oberlin, KS, but spent the majority of their time living and working in Tribune, KS. In 1966, they moved to Duncan, OK. Claudia spent many years working as a cook for several restaurants and nursing homes. During her free time, she enjoyed spending time in her garden, cooking for her family, and being a cleaning fanatic. The thing she cherished most in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Claudia Bartell is survived by her husband, Delbert, of the home and her daughter, Elizabeth Flory, of Goddard, KS, as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
