Claudia Shannon Thomas

Claudia S. Thomas, 80, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at her home in Stillwater. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 2:00PM at the First Christian Church in Stillwater.
Claudia was born on April 9, 1939 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Claude and Reba (Halcomb) Shannon. Claudia grew up in Enid, Oklahoma and raised her family in Stillwater. She received her BS in Education in 1961 and her Master’s of Science in 1966 from Oklahoma State University. She taught math in Stillwater Public Schools for many years, retiring in 1997. She was an active member of AXΩ Sorority. She served as a member and President of Stillwater Literacy Council until June 2019. She was an involved member of the First Christian Church, cooking and serving meals to the youth. She loved her Alma Mater and was an avid OSU sports fan. She was “Nana” to so many and will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents Claude and Reba Shannon.
She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Steve and Kathy Thomas, Shannon and Matt Hiner and Scott and Neilly Thomas and seven grandchildren: Evan, Claire, Blakely and spouse Trent, Ellie, Landry, Henry and Lucy, and a sister: Nancy McCoy.
