Cody Mertes

CODY JAY MERTES 27, of Stillwater, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Stillwater.
Visitation will be noon to 8PM on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the funeral home. Family will receive guests from 6PM-8PM.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 10AM Saturday, May 28, 2016 in the chapel at Palmer Marler Funeral Home, officiated by Lonnie McKinzie. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater.
Cody was born September 9, 1988 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Eddie Mertes and Cindy Smith. He attended Stillwater elementary school and Katy High School in Katy, Texas. After school, he returned to the Stillwater/Perkins area where he remained until his passing. Cody enjoyed Golf, Fishing, hunting very much. Camo was his game.
Cody is survived by his parents, Edward Eddie Jay Mertes and wife Tiffany of Houston, Texas and Cindy Kay Smith of Perkins, Oklahoma; two step-sisters, Jessica Garza and Kenley Abrams; Paternal grandmother Corrie Peters of Houston, TX; maternal grandparents, Kennith Smith and wife Evelyn of Coyle, OK and Sharon Smith of Perkins, OK; several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and a host of friends. He also leaves behind his canine companion Sissy that he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his Paternal grandfather, Kenneth Peters.
