Courtland 'Corky' Green

Courtland Corky Green, 67, passed from this life on Saturday, November 7, 2015 in Oklahoma City. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home. A service celebrating Corkys life will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, November 21, 2015 in the funeral home chapel in Stillwater.
Corky was born on June 1, 1948 in Lawton, OK. He grew up in Stillwater where he attended and graduated from Stillwater High School in 1966. After high school, Corky took some college courses and then chose to receive his certifications in cosmetology. His career took him to Dallas, Houston, Seattle, New York, Oklahoma City and Stillwater. He loved his clients and making people feel beautiful and special.
In 1969, Corky joined the United States Army and served his country in Vietnam until 1971. He was a member of Mensa. Corky was previously involved in the Aids Mastery Program in Oklahoma City providing training and caretaking to help people enjoy their remaining days and pass away in peace. He lost many dear friends. He was also previously involved in CASA in Oklahoma City to help provide children a special Christmas.
Corky was an adventurous fun loving man, who lived life to the fullest. He loved to spend time with family, friends and clients. In his free time, Corky enjoyed art, creativity, music, movies, cocktails and playing games.
Corky will be missed by all.
Corky was preceded in death by his parents Stanley Donald and Colleen Blaylock Green.
He is survived by his sister, Lori Green of Stillwater; nephew, Colby Owens of Stillwater; niece, Jennifer Paine and husband, Brian and their children, Taylor, Noah, Roman, and Brooklyn of Tulsa; best friend, Terry Reid; and extended family and friends.
