Curtis Cellan, 72, of Pawnee passed from this life Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the Stillwater Medical Center. Curtis was born August 18, 1939 in Gage, Oklahoma to George and Ima Perry Cellan. Curtis grew up in Gage, where he attended school. He later moved to Sapulpa. On April 5,1961, he was united in marriage to Betty Drake.
They made their home in Sapulpa. To this union one son: George Cellan was born. Curtis was a fun loving individual. He loved to laugh and make others do the same. He loved to pester people in fun.
He liked to fix things and worked on cars and raced cars when he was younger. He worked on his wheel chair and it was never the same. Once, he was taken to the hospital and the doctor asked him, What brought you here today? He replied, Ambulance. He loved being with his wife of 51 years. He loved his family so very much. Survivors include his wife Betty, one son, George and wife Cricket of Glencoe, three sisters: Margie Garland, Lois Self and Virginia Foster, four grandchildren: Jeremiah, Barbara, Sara, and Amanda, five great-grandchildren, Domonick, Jeremiah Jr., Payton, Alexandra, and Nasnan. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 7.2012 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home. Reverend G.H. Baugus will officiate.
