Lindsey, Daniel Calvin Daniel Calvin Lindsey, 75, of Stillwater, passed from this life Friday, June 22, 2007 at Stillwater Regional Hospital. Daniel was born November 1, 1931 in Gotebo Oklahoma, to Sylvester Bert and Nora May (Gold) Lindsey. He attended Gotebo Public Schools graduating from Gotebo High School in 1949. Daniel was an Educator both in Oklahoma and California. He received his Masters Degree from Southwestern State College and his Ed.D from Oklahoma State University. Daniel married his childhood sweetheart, Erma Shafer on May 30, 1951 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He took his first teaching job when he was 21 years of age. Daniel was a Christian by faith. He loved to golf, was a tremendous Sports Fan. He coached Baseball and Basketball for several years, and lead the Edwards Air Force Base (Desert High School Scorpions) Baseball team to the California State Championship in 1965 where he and his team won the State Championship. He was proud of all his athletes throughout his coaching career, but he was a teacher first. He loved the classroom and he was a lifetime learner. He was natural storyteller and always quick with an encouraging word for anyone who wanted to talk. He was a faithful friend. A do-it-yourself guy that never met a stranger. Daniel loved his family and friends and his Lord, Jesus Christ. Survivors: His wife Erma of the home One son: Steven and fiance Elizabeth Murphy of Sand Springs. One daughter: Susan and husband Paul David Rodman of Perkins. Grandchildren: Lindsey Rodman, Lane Rodman, Trey Rodman. Brothers: Clarence Oboe Lindsey of Mountain View, Oklahoma Marvin Joe Lindsey of Porter, Oklahoma, George Lindsey of Moreland, Oklahoma. Sisters: Naomi Sexton of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Jean Barkley of Midwest City, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Harold and Carl Lindsey four sisters Dorothy Martin Mary Gibbs Juanita Mayes and Dora Blanton. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday June 26, 2007 at Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery.
