Daniel Frederick Coldiron, II

September 21, 1949 — May 9, 2024

Daniel Frederick Coldiron, II, longtime resident of Perry, Oklahoma, passed away on May 9, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 74 after an unknown battle with lung cancer. He was born on September 21, 1949, to Kenneth K. and Mary Ellen Coldiron.

Raised in Perry, Dan attended Perry Schools and graduated in 1968. He was an athlete in school, an avid football player and successful wrestler!  After graduating Dan committed two years of service to his country in the United States Army.

Dan was known for his kind and gentle personality which touched the lives of many who knew him, although some may argue that he was a bit ornery.

Dan dedicated 40 years to the Charles Machine Works company. He worked as a machinist for many years before transferring to Subsite Electronics where he was known for his craftsmanship, attention to detail and willingness to help.

Dan had a variety of interests that brought him joy. He could often be found fishing, hunting, and traveling with family. Beyond his personal love for the outdoors, he really loved to share it with family. He taught all of the grandkids to fish and those who wanted to learn, to hunt! He loved spending quality time with his family.

He liked to visit the casinos, where he was occasionally lucky! When he wasn’t trying his luck or spending time outside with the family, he could always be found engaging in the challenge of putting together countless 1000-piece puzzles.

Family was at the center of Dan's life. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Beverly (Hughes) Coldiron of the home; son, Daniel Coldiron III (Trey) and wife Marty of Perry; daughter, Abbi Coldiron of Stillwater; brother, Clark Coldiron and wife Beth of Florida; sister-in-law, Roni Coldiron of Perry, Ok; six grandchildren, Dalton Coldiron (Ashlee Jones), Keely Coldiron-Foreman (Colt), Spencer Coldiron (Evie), Destiny Thedford (Jacob), Aspen Coldiron (Cody Sproul), and Hunter Coldiron; as well as five great-grandchildren, Amariana Coldiron, Wrenley Thedford, Valetta Thedford, Prue Foreman, and Ridge Sproul, with two more on the way. Dan is also remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends who cherished his presence in their lives.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Carl Lee Coldiron and Reed Coldiron.

In memory of Dan, may his kind spirit and wonderful memories live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
