Dara Payton

Dara Diane Payton, a longtime Perkins resident, entered into her eternal life on Sunday, December 4, 2011 in Perkins, OK at the age of 60 years.

Graveside services have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Perkins and will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 10, 2011 in the Wellston Cemetery, Wellston, OK.

The daughter of the late Elmer Lee Payton and Norma Jean (Foster) Payton, Dara was born on May 3, 1951 in Baton Rouge, LA. She grew up in the Briton and Oklahoma City area, attending John Marshal High School. Dara was united in marriage to Larry Strider and to this union three children, Jeanne Ann, Tammie Diane, and Larry Michael, were born.

Dara has spent the past 21 years in Perkins, working for Keystone Trucking and McAnalys. In her spare time she enjoyed talking on the phone, visiting with friends, shopping, and dancing.

Survivors include her three children, Jeanne Ann Dahl and her husband Michael of Stillwater, Tammie Diane Wells and her husband Brian of Carney, Michael Strider and his wife Tonya of Perkins; nine grandchildren, Chaz Strider, Cody Strider, Logan Strider, Emily Strider, Ryan Wells, Brady Wells, Kalan Wells, Jenna Wells, and Caleb Wells; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Dara was preceded in death by one brother.
