Daryl Douglas Lukehart

Daryl “Luke” Douglas Lukehart September 24, 1948 - October 2, 2024, Luke reunited with his beloved wife in their final resting place on October 2, 2024.

Luke was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on September 24, 1948, to Harold and Louella (Paxton) Lukehart. He graduated from Oelwein High School in 1966. He enlisted, proudly serving in The United States Air Force working on B52’s Bombers from 1967-1975. During that time, he also found his best friend Linda taking her hand in marriage on August 17, 1968. To this marriage they had two children, Kelly and Tony.

He worked many jobs including the railroad industry and the auto industry. After retiring they moved to Goodyear, Arizona working at a national park. Luke’s diagnosis of Parkinson Disease led them to Perkins, Oklahoma to be closer to family. Luke was an avid reader, boasting about his “library”, collecting all the Tom Clancy books.

He is survived by his two children Kelly (Kyle) Smithson of Omaha, NE and Tony (Doni) Lukehart of Cushing, OK. Grandchildren, Elizabeth (Casey) Lukehart of Stillwater, OK, Rachel (Jimmy) Kinder of Perkins, OK, Gillian Smithson of Omaha, NE, Hunter Smithson of Omaha, NE, and Beau Lukehart of Cushing, OK. Great grandchildren Bella, Lane, and Kinsley Kinder all of Perkins, OK.
